Moose Jaw Warriors beat Saskatoon Blades 4-1

SASKATOON – Brett Howden scored twice and Brody Willms made 45 saves as the Moose Jaw Warriors beat the Saskatoon Blades 4-1 on Sunday in Western Hockey League action for their third straight win. Brayden Point and Dryden Hunt had a goal and two assists apiece for the Warriors (33-22-8).

Nick Zajac had a power-play goal in the second period for Saskatoon (24-34-4), which had a five-game winning streak snapped. Evan Smith stopped 38-of-42 shots in defeat.

Moose Jaw converted once on four power plays, with the Blades going 1 for 5.

With just 10 games remaining in the regular season, the Blades slim playoff hopes got a little bit slimmer.

Saskatoon looks to get back in the win column Wednesday when they travel to Brandon to take on the Wheat Kings.
