Heavy rain across prairies attributes to rising Sask. river levels

The Saskatchewan Watershed Authority (SWA) said flows on the North and South Saskatchewan Rivers will rise over the week in response to heavy precipitation across the Prairies.

Outflows from Lake Diefenbaker are expected to increase to 360 m3/s which could increase Saskatoon river levels to 30 cm above the weir.

Flows from Alberta to the North Saskatchewan River are expected to rise 600m3/s resulting in a nearly 5’ increase through North Battleford and could continue to Prince Albert by mid-week.

Environment Canada’s rainfall warning has ended for west-central Saskatchewan.

Langham and Biggar areas reportely received around 90 mm of rain over the last 24 hours.
