KELOWNA, B.C. – A Saskatchewan man has been identified as the pilot killed in the crash of a powered paraglider near Vernon, B.C.
The B.C. Coroner’s Service says 43-year-old Barry Kleiter, from Humboldt, Sask., was on a solo training flight Thursday morning.

He was in radio contact with an instructor on the ground when something went wrong and the glider plunged 300 metres to the ground.
Kleiter had been taking a paraglider flying course for about a week.
The coroner’s service and RCMP are investigating the accident.
