KELOWNA–Film crews are needed in the Okanagan.

Starting in March, as many as six television movies of the week will begin production in the Okanagan.

The movies will be shot back to back until the end of June.

Each movie has a one million dollar budget and will be broadcast on Hallmark Channel.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

An independent feature film called “The Plateau” is shooting in Kelowna from April 11-30.  It’s being shot locally by Production Manager Iain Hittel.

“We need crew,” says Jon Summerland, Okanagan Film Commissioner.

Beyond the movies already scheduled to begin production, several more projects are in discussion.

A workshop for aspiring filmmakers is also coming to the Okanagan.  Okanagan Film Fundamentals will be held at the Cove Lakeside in West Kelowna from March 3-6.
