Newfoundland teacher charged with Internet luring

GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.L. – A school teacher in central Newfoundland has been charged with trying to lure a child under 16 over the Internet.

The 40-year-old Grand Falls-Windsor man was arrested earlier this week.

He was released following a court appearance yesterday.

The accused is scheduled to enter a plea Aug. 22.

The Nova Central school district says the teacher was suspended May 28 after the board was notified about possible inappropriate communication by a teacher to a student.
