Dramatic dash cam video shows the moment a CN freight train and semi-truck collided at a railway crossing in Minnesota on Jan. 20.
The footage released by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, shows a truck, which had just been pulled over for a commercial vehicle inspection, making its way to the railway crossing in Iron Range, Minn. around 10: 00 a.m.
Instead of stopping at the tracks, which had red lights flashing indicating a train was coming, the driver of the semi-truck continued driving. That’s when the train slammed into the truck, dragging it for several hundred metres.
The driver of the truck has been identified as James Floyd Saatela, 67.
According to WDIO News, Saatela only suffered a minor cut near one of his eyes.
