A man who died following a workplace accident in Coquitlam has now been identified as Eric Lee Bird, also known as Eric Starr. He was 31 years old and from Vancouver.
He was digging a sewer line at The Residences on Hart, located in the 260-block of Hart Street, when the ditch caved in on him.

The accident happened just before 11 a.m.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but Eric could not be saved.
WorkSafeBC will be investigating his death.
