UPDATED: Province issues flood warnings

Due to high precipitation and water levels, a number of provincial parks and recreation areas are closed until further notice due to flood risk.

The Government of Alberta has announced it has closed Red Lodge Provincial Park, Crescent Falls Provincial Recreation Area, and Snow Creek Provincial Recreation Area.

Red Lodge Provincial Park is located west of Bowden, Crescent Falls Provincial Recreation Area is located west of Rocky Mountain House near Highway 11, and Snow Creek Provincial Recreation Area is west of Rocky Mountain House near Highway 11.

Albertans and visitors will not be allowed into these areas until the flood risk subsides. Campers with reservations at these campgrounds are being notified and refunds will be issued.

High streamflow advisories have now been issued for Oldman
River and its tributaries upstream of Oldman dam, Bow River and its tributaries
upstream of Calgary, Bow River downstream of and including the City of Calgary,
tributaries of the Red Deer River upstream of the Dickson Dam, Red Deer River
upstream and downstream of the Dickson Dam,  North Saskatchewan River and its tributaries
upstream of Rocky Mountain House, Athabasca River and its tributaries upstream
of Hinton, Smoky River and its tributaries.

A flood watch has been issued for Clearwater River as the
water level is rising quickly.
