SASKATOON – Single use coffee pods have made it much easier for us to get our caffeine fix, but at what cost to the environment? In an effort to be more ‘green’, the German city of Hamburg has banned coffee pods from all state run buildings.
The BBC reports that the city’s new Guide to Green Procurement specifically mentions a ban on using state funds to buy “equipment for hot drinks in which portion package is used.”
