A Surrey woman is facing charges after an incident on the SkyTrain that started off with her mocking a group of deaf students on Wednesday.
It began when she boarded the SkyTrain at Commercial and Broadway Station and was seen mocking a group of young deaf students, who were communicating to each other in sign language.

“She ended up walking towards the group of kids…really drunk just mocking them basically trying to humiliate them”, said Nicole Charbonneau, 23. “I literally got sucker punched for saying back off and leave them alone.”
Following the attack, 71-year-old Jim Brisebois got up as the train approached Edmonds Station. He politely asked Robertson to move out of the doorway.
“I was quite shocked, she just turned around and gave me a straight right that clearly had a lot of practice behind it,” said Brisebois. “It hurt like hell.”
Charbonneau pushed the security button and the train came to a halt.
The two victims gave their information to a SkyTrain attendant who followed up with Transit Police as Robertson was seen getting back on the eastbound train.
“I would hope that she gets some help of some sort,” said Charbonneau.
“She did something terrible but she doesn’t need jail she needs psychiatric treatment,” said Brisebois. “I don’t have any bad feelings against her because I can tell that she is not in her right mind at all.”
