Halifax police have charged a doctor in Halifax with sexual assault and sexual exploitation.
Halifax Regional Police say Dr. Nebojsa Sparavalo, 64, has been charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault that happened in March 2015. It was reported to police in October 2015.
A 17-year-old male reportedly went to the Victoria General hospital site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre on March 18, 2015 for a medical procedure.
The teen told police the doctor who performed the procedure touched him in a sexual manner over his clothing after the procedure.
Dr. Sparavalo is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on Apr. 7.
A spokesperson from the Nova Scotia Health Authority confirmed Tuesday that Dr. Sparavalo is off on personal leave, but wouldn’t comment further.
