Friday night shooting in Regina leaves one youth in hospital, another arrested

REGINA – One male youth was shot and taken to hospital and another youth arrested after a shooting late Friday night.

Police say at approximately 11:30 p.m. they were on scene in the 2700 block of 10th Avenue when a male approached them advising he had been shot.

According to police, the male was transported to hospital and is in stable condition.

Police say around the same time, officers were dispatched to a nearby address in the same block where the shooting occurred.

Multiple people were at the address and taken into custody and one youth was arrested and is believed to be involved in the shooting.

Because of their age, both the names of the victim and the suspect cannot be released by police due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police say an investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
