Montreal’s Dorchester Square to get a makeover

MONTREAL – The city has big plans to spruce up park areas along Peel Street.

The northern sector of Dorchester Square is slated for a makeover starting in August.

The coffee stand along the park’s northern Dorchester Square Street will be improve and pedestrian bridges will be built to go over the two ramps leading to the underground parking garage.

“Aside from improving an iconic area of Montreal, these renovations will allow everyone to better appreciate the park,” said Réal Ménard, the Executive Committee member responsible for sustainable development, environment and parks.

The city will also put a fountain the centre of the site and improve paving along the surrounding streets and walkways.

Renovations for the north section of the park is estimated to cost $709,062.
