WINNIPEG– After five years, Winnipeg police say the camera in AIR1 is not as effective as it once was.
The camera has undergone several repairs which also limits flight times.

Police said when they first unveiled AIR1 in 2010, it played a crucial role in members being able to arrest people involved in criminal activity and also rescue people in dangerous situations.
Winnipeg police service is now in talks with the province to purchase new equipment, specifically a forward looking infrared camera.
