WINNIPEG — Eleven days after a vehicle was reported stolen from River Heights, officers arrested a man with the help of the Winnipeg police helicopter.
The vehicle was reported stolen on January 1 from River Heights. On January 12 just after 11 p.m. officers saw the vehicle driving in the area of Inkster Boulevard and McGregor Street. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle the driver fled north down Main Street.

Winnipeg Police’s AIR1 helicopter followed the vehicle into the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews. The lone occupant and driver of the vehicle then left the vehicle and began to flee. Winnipeg police, canine units and members of the RCMP caught and arrested the suspect after a short foot pursuit.
Joseph Christopher Colosimo, 32, faces possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, flight while pursued by police officer, dangerous operation of motor vehicle, fail to comply with probation order, and driving while disqualified. He’s been detained in custody.
