Quebec man facing charges after Guelph human trafficking investigation

Police say a 33-year-old man from Quebec is facing a long list of charges after a human trafficking investigation in Guelph, Ont.

Spokesman Const. Mike Gatto says the alleged human trafficking of a woman occurred in Guelph, but couldn’t provide the man’s name or other details as he was yet to appear before a judge Tuesday.

The investigation began Sunday, and the man was arrested by provincial police in Petrolia on Monday and handed over to Guelph police.

The man is charged with trafficking in persons, material benefit, procuring sexual services, advertising sexual services, assault, assault with a weapon, motor vehicle theft, mischief under $5,000 and two counts of utter threats to cause death.
