MONTREAL – The latest census counted 1,886,481 people living on the Island of Montreal, up 1.7% from 2006.
If you ever feel like the city is a bit crowded, it’s for good reason.
With an average of 3779 people per square kilometre – that’s a much a higher number than Quebec City (1,137.7, up 5.2%), Saskatoon (at 1,060, up 9.8%) or Halifax (71, up 4.7%) but still fewer people than Vancouver (at 5,249, up 4.4%) or Toronto (at 4,149.5, up 4.5%).
