Manslaughter charge laid in Stanley Mission death

REGINA – A 23-year-old Stanley Mission man has been charged with manslaughter.

Isiah McKenzie, 21, from Stanley Mission, Sask. was found deceased by RCMP in a Stanley Mission residence on Feb. 1.

RCMP say an autopsy on Feb. 3 at the Saskatoon City Hospital and a police investigation revealed the death was due to foul play.

On Feb. 5, Larry Charles, 23, of Stanley Mission with arrested and charged with manslaughter.

Police say Charles and McKenzie were known to each other and they are not seeking any other suspects in this incident.

Stanley Mission and La Ronge RCMP are continuing to investigate the death with RCMP Major Crime North and the Saskatoon General Investigation Section.

Charles has been remanded to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Feb. 8 at 9:30 a.m.
