CALGARY – The Calgary Fire Department (CFD) responded to a house fire in Bridlewood Thursday afternoon.
Upon arrival, crews determined there were two occupants in the basement, who they rescued without injury.
Two goldfish were also saved from the home.
The District Battalion Chief said that as crews worked to put out the fire, they noticed one neighbour’s home was experiencing smoke damage. The CFD then evacuated the occupants from the neighbouring home as well.
The cause of the fire is not known.
Nine people live in the home that caught fire. The CFD said that due to the extensive damage to the structure, reoccupation will not be possible for some time.
