Caught on camera: ‘Batman’ robs California dollar store

WATCH ABOVE: Say it ain't so, Dark Knight!

It’s like Harvey Dent once said: You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself stealing petty cash from a local dollar store.

OK, so that’s not quite the famous line from the Batman film The Dark Knight. But just like that blockbuster movie, this story ends with police hunting for an unknown man dressed as a bat.

In this case however, the evidence – captured on security camera at an Orange County, Calif., dollar store – is hard to ignore.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says a man dressed like Batman walked into the 123 Dollar Store around 8 p.m. Tuesday, carrying a gun and demanding cash.

The clerk complied, emptying the register’s contents into “Batman’s” bag. Once finished, the Bat-thief casually strolls out of the store, gun and stolen cash in hand.

Police say an hour and a half later, the same man robbed the South Goldenrod Road Dollar General a short distance away.
