TORONTO — Police have released surveillance video showing a suspect wanted in the killing of a 42-year-old man follow the victim into his garage seconds before the father of two was shot dead.
The footage captured around 6:21 p.m. Jan. 20 shows Alfredo (Freddy) Patriarca pull his SUV into the garage of his Etobicoke home in the area of the Kingsway and Princess Margaret Boulevard.
Moments after his suspected assailant follows Patriarca inside and, eight seconds later, is seen fleeing in a southwesternly direction. The entire incident lasts barely 50 seconds.

Family members found Patriarca shot inside the garage, and he was declared dead at the scene, Det. Sgt. Joyce Schertzer told reporters Wednesday.
“I do believe that this was targeted and someone was waiting for his arrival home,” she said.
The suspect is seen holding in their right hand a dark object that is “possibly a gun,” Schertzer said.
Police are asking any witnesses to contact them as they try to piece together events and figure out a motive for the slaying.
Schertzer noted that seven cars are seen to pass by during the 48-second video released by police — and wants to hear from those drivers if they saw the suspect.
While the suspect’s jacket appears to be light or a white colour, it could be a darker colour owing to video distortion, Schertzer said.
Patriarca was present at the 2012 Little Italy cafe shooting and suffered a minor injury in the mayhem, Schertzer said.
