WINNIPEG – Mayor Brian Bowman will join 21 other mayors across the country in Ottawa for a meeting on Thursday and Friday this week.

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Big City Mayors’ Caucus is set to review common issues and policies in Canada.

The mayors at the meeting will also discuss the Truth and Reconciliation Commission report as well as Syrian refugee resettlement, infrastructure, climate change and public safety and disaster mitigation.

After declaring 2016 as the year of reconciliation, Bowman is also looking over a report Wednesday that supports implementing TRC calls of action.

Winnipeg is set to host another conference brining municipal officials together again from June 3-5 this year at the Convention Centre with 1,500 people across Canada in attendance.
