Target to open 5 additional Quebec stores

MONTREAL – Target has confirmed the locations of five additional Quebec stores that are expected to open in 2013, bringing the total stores in the province to 17.

The confirmed locations are: Place Versailles in Montreal, Place Longueuil, Terrarium Shopping Centre in Pointe Claire, Les Galeries de la Capitale in Quebec City and Carrefour Richelieu in St. Jean sur Richelieu.

Minneapolis-based Target has taken over the leases of 189 Zellers stores across Canada and plans to open between 125 and 135 stores. Up to $11 million will be invested to remodel each facility, Target said in a statement Friday. The hiring of 200 employees will begin in 2013.

• Carrefour du Nord, St. Jérôme

• Carrefour de L’Estrie, Sherbrooke

• Place Laurier, Ste. Foy

• Centre Les Rivières, Trois Rivières
