UPDATE – Kelowna RCMP say it was a 30-year-old local woman who lost her life in the crash.
Her name has not been released.
Witnesses told police it was her eastbound car that appeared to veer out of control and into the oncoming lane.
The man and woman in the pickup, both in their 20’s, are from the Lower Mainland.
The crash closed the highway for more than two hours.
UPDATE – The highway has fully reopened.
JOE RICH – A crash at about 9:30 Friday morning has closed Highway 33 east of Kelowna near Falcon Ridge Crescent.
It involves two vehicles, a pickup truck and a sedan, which collided head-on.
Police say the woman driving the car has died.
Two people in the pickup were taken to Kelowna hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A RCMP crash analyst used an aerial drone to photograph the scene.
