Police are trying to piece together how a 59-year-old man ended up unconscious on the side of the road in Scarborough Thursday night.

The male was located sometime before 11 p.m. on Milldock Drive near Rouge Hills Drive and Lawrence Avenue East.

Police say the man was initially found unconscious and CPR was performed.

Toronto paramedics say he was taken to hospital where he remains in life-threatening condition.

The identity of the victim has not been released but police say he lives in the general area.

“Once we look at what injuries he has in detail, the information from the hospital in conjunction with the information from the reconstruction teams, then we’re going to be able to piece things together,” said Const. Clinte Stibbe.

Police say they received a call regarding another incident nearby but cannot confirm if the two cases are connected.

“We did attend that area as a result of a call that was made and information that we received, but that hasn’t been necessarily linked to this particular incident,” said Stibbe.

Police are asking anyone living in the area who may have witnessed something to come forward.
