“So mom has gotten into the wrong car.”
It’s the first thing you hear when you view a viral video from Fredericton’s Robb Hartlen, whose infectious laugh is resonating with millions around the globe.
Hartlen says about 10 days ago, he couldn’t resist posting a video online of this mother getting into the wrong car outside the mall in Woodstock last fall.
“I had plenty of time to lay on the horn and alert her, but I thought, no this is too good, and I started giggling,” he said.
The video has been viewed by more than 11 million people around the world since it was posted last week.

His mother Jan says she asked him if he was planning to do anything with the video.
“He said ‘No, mom,'” she said.
The posting set off a social media frenzy, with comments coming in from places as far away as Australia.
Hartlen says he loves hearing stories from other people who have done the same thing.
“This one woman in particular…said ‘Thank you for the laugh. I didn’t think I was going to laugh again. I just lost both of my parents. I have my smile again,'” he said.
Jan says she’s not upset her son posted the video. In fact, she can’t stop laughing every time she watches it herself. She says a little worldwide humiliation is worth making millions laugh.
“We all know the doom and gloom that is out there. This is a good opportunity to just sort of just laugh at ourselves or our mom.”
She says payback would be sweet, but isn’t sure that plan would work.
“I don’t think I am going to live long enough to pay him back,” she said.
