WINNIPEG – Manitoba Moose goalie Eric Comrie will take over Connor Hellebuyck’s spot in next week’s AHL All-Star game.

Teammate Brenden Kichton let the news slip on Twitter Monday afternoon. The league will officially announce the roster change on Tuesday.

Hellebuyck was chosen earlier this month to play in the match but is now ineligible as he’s currently turning away pucks in the NHL with the Winnipeg Jets. Hellebuyck was called up to the big club after its top goalie, Ondrej Pavelec, suffered a knee injury on November 21.

Comrie has a 2.79 goals against average and 0.915 save percentage in 28 games this season. He picked up his first professional shutout by making 24 saves in Manitoba’s 4-0 win over the Lake Erie Monsters on January 13.

The 2016 AHL All-Star game will be played February 1 in Syracuse, New York. The skills competition takes place the previous night.
