Nova Scotia man charged with attempted murder

ANTIGONISH, N.S. – RCMP in Nova Scotia have a charged a 25-year-old man with attempted murder after an incident Friday evening.

Police say officers were called to a residence on St. Mary’s Street in Antigonish around 6 p.m.

Investigators say a woman was attacked by a man who was known to her.

The Mounties say the man was arrested without incident and the woman was taken to the hospital and later released.

Joseph Connor Fraser is facing several charges including attempted murder, forcible confinement and breaking and entering with the intent to commit an offence.

Fraser will appear in court on Tuesday.
