Three fishermen had to survive off clams and seaweed for 10 days after their fishing boat capsized off the coast of British Columbia.

They had nothing but a tarp for shelter, and had no idea if they were ever going to make it home to see their families again.

Then, on Friday, a passing sail boat spotted the three men on the beach of Banks Island, located 112-kilometres south of Prince Rupert.

All the men are in good condition, according to Mark Proulox, regional supervisor marine search and rescue.

The men were on the fishing boat ‘Pacific Siren’, but were able to get aboard a dinghy before the boat went down.

They then had to spend 24 hours in that boat before finding the shore.

Proulox said the men are being brought back aboard the Coast Guard vessel ‘Tanu.’
