Boy, 8, suffers serious head injuries in SUV-bike collision in Brampton, Ont.

BRAMPTON, Ont. – Police are looking for witnesses after an SUV and a bicycle collided in Brampton, sending an eight-year-old boy to hospital with serious head injuries.

Peel regional police say the boy was riding his bike on Donna Drive just east of Conestoga Drive at about 5:45 p.m. Thursday when the collision occurred.

The vehicle, a 2007 Honda CRV, was driven by a 38-year-old Brampton woman who was heading west on Donna Drive.

The boy is listed in serious but stable condition at a Toronto-area trauma centre.

Investigators are asking for help from anyone who may have witnessed the collision – or the actions of the vehicle or cyclist prior to it.
