UPDATE: Queen of New Westminster out of service again

UPDATE – 4:02 p.m.

Due to a malfunction in the sea water cooling system, the Queen of New Westminster is once again out of commission and not sailing, according to BC Ferries.

This is a different issue than the one that knocked out the ferry earlier in the day.

The 4 p.m. sailing from Tsawwassen, and the 6 p.m. from Swartz Bay are both cancelled, and it appears the Queen of New Westminster will not be sailing again on Friday.

BC Ferries has added an 8 p.m. sailing from Swartz Bay, and a 10 p.m. sailing from Tsawwassen, and that will be aboard the Coastal Renaissance.

The vessel will be back in service at 4 p.m. for the Vancouver to Victoria route.

The ferry cancellations disrupted service between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay for the scheduled 8 a.m. and noon departures from Tsawwassen and the 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. departures from Swartz Bay.
