Infant in critical condition after being found in backyard pond in Mississauga

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – A 10-month-old boy is in critical condition after being found in a backyard pond in Mississauga.

Peel police say the boy was found without vital signs in the backyard of a residence (on Glen Erin Drive).

Police say the infant was taken to hospital in life threatening condition.

Const. Fiona Thiverge says paramedics were able to revive the child, who has since been transferred to a Toronto hospital.

The infant is still in critical condition.

Investigators are still trying to determine the how the boy came to be in the pool and whether charges will be laid.
