Charges laid in Saskatoon pharmacy robbery

SASKATOON – A 27-year-old man is facing charges after a robbery at a pharmacy in the Lakewood SC neighbourhood. Just before midnight on Jan. 3, Saskatoon police received a call that two men robbed the Shoppers Drug Mart in the 400-block of Herold Court.

Investigators say the suspects threatened to use violence but no weapon was shown. They fled the scene in a vehicle with an undisclosed amount of pharmaceuticals.

No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, police were able to identify the accused and arrest him. He was scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court Wednesday charged with robbery and wearing a disguise while committing an offence.

The robbery is still under investigation.
