QUEBEC CITY – Coming out of the first cabinet meeting of the year, Quebec’s finance minister said he will deliver a balanced budget in March.
Carlos Leitao said Quebec’s economic situation is relatively positive, given the state of the world economy.
In 2015, Quebec was the province with the second highest job creation and he insisted Quebecers can expect that trend to continue.

“This will be the budget of providing medium-term objectives for our economic growth,” said Leitao.
“If you look across the country, Quebec has, perhaps with British Columbia, the most solid public finances.”
Premier Philippe Couillard travelled to Davos, Switzerland following the cabinet meeting Tuesday.
Quebec has been attending the Davos World Economic Forum for the past 25 years; the premier will be looking to attract foreign investments to the province.
Couillard will then travel to Milan, Italy on Jan. 25.
