All-in-one ID cards coming to Manitoba in 2017

WINNIPEG — Manitobans may soon have an easier time finding their health card in their wallet. Beginning next fall, Manitoba Public Insurance will include your health number on the back of your driver’s license.

The all-in-one card, which will be rolled out in 2017 will look very similar to your existing driver’s license. Its goal is to help reduce identity theft and fraud.

The card holder will also be able to access information online through their personal device such as their iPad or smart phone.
