Calgary police investigate two shootings in less than 24 hours

CALGARY – Calgary police are investigating two shooting incidents between Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

Police said they responded to a shooting at a bar in the 1100 Block of 10 Avenue southwest just before 2 a.m. Sunday; the victim was shot inside the nightclub.

EMS said paramedics transported a man in his mid-30s to hospital with serious injuries.

Police have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the shooting. They say charges are pending.

This incident follows a shooting in the city’s southeast on Saturday night.

Police said a man called 911 from 55 Street and 8 Avenue southeast, and told officers he was shot by an unknown person in a dark SUV.

Police are still trying to determine the exact location of the shooting.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious, non life-threatening injuries.
