Three injured in cottage explosion in Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES, Ont. – Three people were injured, two seriously, in a cottage explosion in Kawartha Lakes, Ont.

Provincial police say a couple from Keswick who owned the seasonal home contacted a local gas company Friday night when they detected an unusual odour.

Police say both homeowners and the propane technician were injured in the explosion and taken to local hospitals.

The technician and the female homeowner were later taken to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries.

The Fire Marshal is investigating, and the Ministry of Labour has been contacted.

Police remain on scene as the investigation continues.
