A California man had to quickly put his car into reverse when floodwaters came rushing towards him on a highway Wednesday afternoon, and it was all caught on camera.
Dashcam footage shows Mark Chagaris driving down an empty California highway on a rainy day, but within seconds, floodwaters and debris can be seen rushing towards him on the road.
That’s when Chagaris quickly put his car into reverse, driving backwards for some time until it was safe enough for him to stop, turn his vehicle around and head in the other direction.
According to WTHR News, Chagaris posted the video to bring awareness of how suddenly waters can rise.
California has been the subject of heavy rains and flooding this week.
