WINNIPEG — The city is looking for help planning the details and location of a downtown dog park, and is hoping Winnipeggers will weigh in.

It has launched a survey, found here, open to the public until January 20, 2016. In it, citizens are asked whether they live downtown, own a dog, and support the idea of an off-leash dog park in the downtown area.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

It also asks where a downtown dog park should be located, and what amenities – such as hills, tunnels, water sources – the plan should include.

The city says having such a space would encourage downtown living, and help downtown residents who already own a dog.
