Canucks defeat ‘Canes 3-2 in Eddie Lack’s return to Vancouver

It was the return of Eddie Lack to Vancouver – but it was Bo Horvat’s night.

The sophomore centre scored two goals in the third period, including the game-winner with 66 seconds to go, to give the Vancouver Canucks a 3-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Horvat’s first goal happened seven minutes into the third period, giving Vancouver a 2-1 lead.

But Jordan Staal scored his eight goal of the season with eight minutes left in the third, tying the game at two.

Sven Baertschi scored his sixth of the season with two minutes left in the second period to time the game at 1, after John-Michael Liles opened the scoring for Carolina earlier in the period.

Eddie Lack made 18 saves for Carolina, in his first game in Vancouver since being traded in the offseason.

Jacob Markstrom made 25 saves for Vancouver, who are now 16-16-9 on the season, third in the Pacific Division.
