HALIFAX – No ticket was issued to a driver who hit a 17-year-old he dropped off at Halifax West High School on Tuesday morning.
Police say the 48-year-old man dropped the passenger off in front of the school, and then looked left before pulling away.
They said he believed his passenger had walked behind the car, but she had actually walked in front of the car and the driver couldn’t stop in time.
There was a snowbank in the girl’s path, meaning she couldn’t move out of the way, and she was struck and fell to the ground.
She was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and police say the driver wasn’t ticketed given the circumstances.
