Len Evans, former NDP MLA, dies at 86

WINNIPEG — Former Brandon East NDP MLA, Len Evans has died.

His career in politics spanned 30 years, serving as MLA in the area from 1969 to 1999.

Condolences have come forward paying respects to Evans, including messages from Premier Greg Selinger. Provincial Secretary of Manitoba NDP said in a statement that Evans was “loved by many and will be greatly missed.”

Drew Caldwell, the current MLA of Brandon East called Evans “the single greatest public servant in the history of Brandon,” in a tweet sent on Saturday afternoon.
