A 25-year-old man has been charged with second degree murder in connection with the death of his 19-year-old cousin in northern Alberta New Year’s Day.
Parminder Sakhon is accused of killing Pardeep Sihu in a rural area about five kilometres north of Rochester, Alta. Friday night.
According to RCMP, officers were called to reports of a gun being fired in the area at around 10:20 p.m. When they got there, they found Sihu’s body and arrested Sakhon.
RCMP did not say how the victim died.
Mounties said their investigation continues and an autopsy has been scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m.
Sakhon is scheduled to appear in court in Athabasca on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
