The province’s police watchdog is investigating after a barricaded man was pronounced dead at a Toronto apartment following an interaction with police on Friday.
Police responded to the call just before 11 a.m. in the area of Scarlett Road and Hill Garden Road.
Toronto paramedics said the male was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s identity has not been released.
The Special Investigations Unit is an arms-length agency that investigates interactions with police where someone is killed, seriously injured or there are allegations of sexual assault.
