Staff at the Chasin’ Tails doggie daycare and boarding centre are hosting a “New Year’s Barkin’ Eve” to ring in 2016.

“Party with the pooches…They just play with me, they dance with me,” staff member Jesse Attrill said. “It’s awesome.”

About a hundred dogs of all shapes and sizes are spending the night at the facility, many while their owners travel over the holiday season.

Staff will lay on some special treats for the big night, much like they did when they put out stockings for the dogs on Christmas Eve.

They’re also having fun imagining what kind of New Year’s resolutions the dogs might make for themselves.

“Take more naps,” speculated Chasin’ Tails’ Megan Brown. “Run, meet new friends. That’d be a big resolution for a lot of the dogs here, to make sure they get to meet as many dogs as possible.”

And as for wishes for the dogs for 2016, staff member Ashley Barton said: “I hope that they stay happy and healthy and well-socialized, and lots of cookies.”
