Until now, a publication ban prevented media from naming Miller.

The ban was lifted by a Court of Queen’s Bench Justice after a successful application by Miller himself.

Miller told the court he wants others to know he is a survivor and he wants to be able to use his name.

The other victim’s identity is still protected by the publication ban.

Whitmore pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison in 2007.
