Four teenagers arrested after Christmas Day police chase

SASKATOON – Four teenagers were arrested on Christmas Day after fleeing from police in a stolen truck southwest of Saskatoon.

Around 3:20 p.m., Warman RCMP attempted to stop a vehicle near Vanscoy, which had been reported stolen from Kenaston earlier Friday morning. The driver of the truck fled from police and drove about 30 kilometres to Saskatoon.

The truck avoided spike strips deployed separately by both the RCMP and Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) by driving through the ditch and into the oncoming lane.

Eventually, the RCMP and SPS stopped the truck at Idylwyld Drive and 36 Street. Two 17-year-olds and two 19-year-olds were arrested.

They are being charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property.

They are scheduled to appear in provincial court in Saskatoon on Tuesday.
