Fresh snow fall causing dangerous morning commute in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG — Winnipeggers are waking up to a blanket of snow and it’s causing a slippery and treacherous drive Wednesday morning.

Just after 6: 30 a.m., three semi trailers got stuck on the cloverleaf interchange at Fermor Avenue and the Perimeter Highway.  As of 7:45 a.m., two more semis got stuck on the merge. The stall is affecting drivers wanting to go southbound from the westbound lane on the Perimeter Highway.

Around the same time, a cab hit a light standard on westbound Notre Dame Avenue and Erin Street.

At 7:00 a.m., a semi hit a light pole on eastbound Higgins Avenue just before the Louise Bridge. Drivers are losing the right hand lane. 

There are also reports of a car rollover that happened around 7:15 a.m. eastbound on the south Perimeter Highway between Pembina Highway and St. Mary’s Road. Emergency crews are on scene.
