WINNIPEG — Piles of concrete are being removed daily from Investors Group Field.
All the concrete along the two concourses in the stadium needs to be taken out and replaced.
Global News spotted several piles of crushed concrete being moved away from the structure at the University of Manitoba on Monday.

“We’ve started the second level concourse remediation the week after the Grey Cup,” said Andrew Konowalchuk, the chair of Triple B, the owner of the stadium.

Earlier this fall the province guaranteed a loan to cover the cost of $35.3 million in repairs to stadium.
The nearly $210 million stadium opened in 2013 and issues with the structure were quickly flagged including insufficient drainage and cracking in the concrete.

Triple B, the group of stadium owners including the Manitoba government, the City of Winnipeg, the University of Manitoba and the Winnipeg Football Club, launched a lawsuit against Raymond S.C. Wan Architect and Stuart Olson Construction in March over the issues with IGF. Both parties have since filed a separate statement of defence.
