George, dog found bound at Nova Scotia dump, slowly on the mend

HALIFAX – Although there’s a long road ahead for George, the dog found severely malnourished and painfully bound at a dump in Nova Scotia, he’s coming along well since being found and taken into care.

In an update from Litters N’ Critters, Shelley Cunningham told Global News on Tuesday that George is still at the vet and is now on antibiotics.

He has an IV, and is being slowly introduced to new foods.

Cunningham said he’s making progress, but it’s slow progress.

She said the SPCA is now involved in looking for George’s owners.

George  was found at the old Georgefield Landfill Site in Hants County on Friday, with a tight rope around his neck.

Cuts and wounds on his legs and neck indicate he was bound for a long time, and probably sitting for extended periods of time.
